Vacancy for a Consultant – Petroleum Industry

 The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (Commission), in its capacity as the designated regulator of the petroleum industry, is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate to advise and assist the Commission in the regulation of the petroleum industry.

The primary responsibility of the Consultant would be to coordinate the process of establishing the regulatory framework and to build regulatory capacity within the Commission, as well as to execute the activities of the Commission in the petroleum industry.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Basic degree in chemical engineering from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission
  • Minimum of 20-years experience in the petroleum industry, 10-years of which should be in a senior management position
  • Knowledge and experience related to local and international petroleum markets
  • Consulting experience, local and international
  • Regulatory experience will be an advantage
  • Experience in training will be an advantage

The duration of the contract will be for one year, with the option of renewal based on successful performance. Short-listed candidates will be called for and selection will be based on performance at an interview.
