The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) was established by the Act No. 35 of 2002 as a multi-sector infrastructure regulator in the country. With the enactment of the Sri Lanka Electricity Act No. 20 of 2009, PUCSL became the economic, safety and technical regulator of the Electricity industry.

PUCSL seeks a dynamic and results-oriented professional to fill the following position.

Director Licensing (01 position)

Internal relationship

  • Reports to: Deputy Director General

Objective of the position

  • Responsible for operations of the licensing division including exercise licensing condition as per legislations and monitor the compliance.


  • Degree in Electrical Engineering and a post graduate degree from a recognized university
  • Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Sri Lanka.


  • Minimum of 15 years post qualifying experience in electricity industry with generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • Experience in a large power utility with at least five (05) years of direct operational experience is an added advantage.


  • Below 45 years

Gross Salary

  • Rs. 300,000.00

The above position carries attractive remunerations and other fringe benefits.
