The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) was established by the Act No. 35 of 2002 as a multi-sector infrastructure regulator in the country. With the enactment of the Sri Lanka Electricity Act No. 20 of 2009, PUCSL became the economic, safety and technical regulator of the Electricity industry.
PUCSL seeks dynamic and results oriented professionals to fill the following positions.
- Director Licensing (01 position)
Internal relationship
- Reports to: Deputy Director General- Industries
Objective of the position:
- Responsible for operations of the licensing division including exercise licensing condition as per legislations and monitor the compliance.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering and a post graduate degree from a recognized university
- Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Sri Lanka.
Experience
- Minimum of 15 years post qualifying experience in large power utility with generation, transmission, and distribution facilities.
- Experience in a large power utility with at least five (05) years of direct operational experience is an added advantage.
Age
Below 45 years
Gross Salary
Rs. 300,000.00
- Director Finance (01 position)
Reporting relationship
- Deputy Director General – Operations
Objective of the position:
- Responsible for all financial management activities.
- Receive all money due to the Commission and also to make payments on behalf of the Commission.
- Maintenance of accounts of the Commission as per the approved finance manual.
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance/Accounting and post graduate degree from a recognized university by UGC.
- Should be a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Experience
- Minimum fifteen (15) years of post-qualifying experience in managing finance and accounting preferably in a semi-government organization.

Below 50 years

- Director -HRM & Admin (01 position)
Internal relationship
- Reports to: Deputy Director General – Operations
Objective of the position:
- The Director Human Resources and Administration will Head the Human Resource Division and administration activities of the Commission.
- The Director shall be responsible for all Human Resources and administration related functions of the Commission.
Qualifications
- Degree in Management / Human Resource Management from recognized university by UGC.
- Should have a recognized Master degree in Management / Human Resource Management.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years post qualifying experience in Human resources management and administrative procedures at senior Managerial level with well-developed HR skills.
- Knowledge /experience gained on Human resources management and administrative procedures through Sri Lanka Administrative Services will be an added advantage.

- Management Assistant to Director General – (01 position)
Qualifications and Experience
- Should have obtained Credit passes for 03 main subjects (except General Test and Common English Paper) in G.C.E. (A/L) examination in any stream in one sitting.
- Should have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination with six (06) subjects including credit passes for English and Mathematics in one sitting.
- Minimum of three (03) years of post-qualifying experience in a similar capacity.
- Preference will be given to applicants with Secretarial practices.
Age
