The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) independent and autonomous multi-sector infrastructure regulatory agency established under the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka Act No. 35 of 2002 in the country. With the enactment of the Sri Lanka Electricity Act No. 20 of 2009, PUCSL became the economic, safety and technical regulator of the Electricity industry. PUCSL is seeking to appoint dynamic and results-oriented professionals with a high level of integrity to fill the following positions.

1. SECRETARY TO THE COMMISSION (01 positions)

Reporting Relationship

The successful applicant will be subject to the general direction and control of the Commission   

Minimum Qualifications

• Attorney-at-Law
• Registered Company Secretary

Experience and Competencies

• Minimum of 10 years of post-qualified experience in handling corporate secretarial functions
• Good writing & interpersonal skills and capability of working independently
• Exposure to and experience in infrastructure regulation would be an added advantage

Gross Salary range – Rs. 280,000.00 – 400,000.00                

Age – Below 49 years.

 

2. DIRECTOR LICENSING (01 positions)

Reporting relationship

• Reports to: Deputy Director General (Industry Services)

The objective of the position:

• Responsible for operations of the licensing division including exercising licensing conditions as per legislations and monitoring compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering and a postgraduate degree from a recognized university by UGC.
• Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Sri Lanka.

Experience

• Minimum of ten (10) years post-qualifying experience in a utility or regulatory agency.

Age- Below 45 years

Gross Salary range

Rs. 280,000.00 – 400,000.00

3. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR – (On Contract)

Reporting relationship

• Director of the relevant division

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2^nd upper from a recognized university by UGC.
• Associate membership from a recognized professional institution
• Minimum of two (02) years of post-qualifying experience in related engineering activities
• Partly qualified in recognized financial-related professional status (CIMA, ACCA, ICASL etc.) is an added advantage.

Age – Below 35 years

Gross Salary range

Rs. 130,000.00 – Rs.170,000.00
