The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (the Commission) is the economic, technical, and safety regulator of the electricity industry and the designated regulator for water services and downstream petroleum industries in Sri Lanka. Consumer protection in industries regulated by the Commission is one of its prime objectives.
The Commission has established a Consumer Consultative Committee (the CCC) to advise the commission on appropriate standards to be prescribed or determined, monitor whether the needs of consumers are being satisfied, and promote awareness among consumers.
There will be an opportunity for one qualified candidate to work for consumer interest in industries regulated by the Commission in each province of Sabaragamuwa, Central, North Western & North Central Provinces. There is no regular compensation paid to the CCC members, however, the genuine effort made by CCC members will be compensated.
