At Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. If you are a user of our Android mobile application, TIS (Technician Information System), you have the right to request the deletion of your account and any associated personal data.

Please review the information below to understand how to submit a deletion request and how your data is handled.

How to Request Account and Data Deletion

To permanently delete your app account and associated data, please follow these steps:

  1. Send an email from your registered email address to: info@pucsl.gov.lk
  2. Use the subject line: Account Deletion Request – TIS
  3. In the body of the email, please provide:
    • Your full name
    • The email address or phone number associated with your app account
    • A brief statement confirming that you want your account and data permanently deleted

What Happens After You Submit a Request?

  • Verification: Our team will review your request and may contact you to verify your identity before proceeding to ensure the security of your account.
  • Timeline: Once verified, your account deletion request will be processed within 14 business days].

Data That Will Be Deleted

Upon successful verification and processing of your request, the following information will be permanently removed from our active databases:

  • Your user profile information (Name, Email, Phone number, Profile picture, etc.)
  • App authentication credentials and login logs
  • Personal preferences or settings saved within the app

Data That May Be Retained (Retention Policy)

As a regulatory body, PUCSL may be required to retain certain information to comply with statutory legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. The following data may not be immediately deleted:

  • Official Regulatory Records: Any formal consumer complaints, submissions, or official disputes filed through the app will be retained in accordance with national public record retention laws.
  • Security & Audit Logs: System logs related to security and fraud prevention may be kept for a limited retention period of 6 months before being automatically purged.

Note to Users: Deleting your account is a permanent action. Once deleted, your account cannot be recovered, and you will lose access to any history or services tied to that account within the mobile application.
