A consumer can not request for an inspection. If the consumer face a problem, he should make the complain to the service provider. If service provider recommends an inspection, they request an inspection from PUCSL.

other than that Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka make inspections at following instances.

1.  The Consumer Affairs Division will make a request to make an inspection if the inspection is required to solve a complain or a dispute.
2. The Commission itself feel that an inspection is required
3. Random inspections made to licensee premises to check the validity of the data presented.
