UPDATE – PUCSL approves a development of 300 MW combined power plant

(23/11/2016) – Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka recently approved the request to call proposal for the development of natural gas fired (duel fuel) 300 MW combined cycle power plant at Kerawalapitiya by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).

The power plant will be developed on Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis, will be connected to Kerawalapitiya Grid Substation.

The Commission also stated that the CEB shall not bear the risks related to the fuel supply, required minimum fuel stock levels shall be specified in the draft power purchase agreement and plant shall be required to supply reactive power as and when required by the transmission licensee.
