Electricity plays a crucial role in modern agriculture, supporting irrigation, storage, and processing. However, its misuse poses severe risks, especially through illegal electrification practices. One such critical hazardous practice is the erection of makeshift electric fences energized with illegally tapped electricity, often intended to protect crops from wild animals or, in some cases, to kill them. These fences frequently lack proper insulation, grounding, and regulatory oversight, leading to accidental electrocution of farmers, passersby, and even unsuspecting wildlife.
