Stakeholder Consultation on the Interim Report (2027-2029) of Long Term Power System Development Plan 2027-2046
(Notice published under Section 17 of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka Act No. 35 of 2002)
The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (Commission) hereby announces its decision to hold a Stakeholder Consultation on the Interim Report (2027-2029) of Long Term Power System Development Plan 2027-2046 prepared and submitted by the National System Operator (Pvt) Ltd (NSO) for the recommendations of the Commission.
This report provides an overview of the electricity demand forecast, committed and proposed thermal, renewable and storage capacity additions, ongoing, committed and proposed transmission development projects, candidate generation technologies, contingency scenario analysis for the year 2027, operational challenges associated with high renewable energy penetration and corresponding recommendations along with their implementation plans for the period of 2027-2029.

The Stakeholders are hereby invited to submit written comments, if any, on the Interim Report (2027-2029) of Long Term Power System Development Plan 2027-2046 and the Commission may consider such submissions and, where necessary, invite such parties, to make oral submissions during the stakeholder consultation session.
A session for oral submissions will be held under and by virtue of powers vested with the Commission under Section 17 of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka Act No 35 of 2002, and the interested parties will be given the opportunity (subject to the availability of time) to present their views at the aforesaid session. Therefore, you may specify your interest in participating in the session along with the written submission. The Date, Time and Venue of the session for oral submissions will be informed in due course.
