The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), established under Act, No. 35 of 2002, has been designated as the regulator of the petroleum industry, and in the interim has been appointed as the shadow regulator of the lubricant market in Sri Lanka.

The necessity of having an effective and independent mechanism for ensuring product quality, fair prices and protecting the interests of consumers and market players has arisen. Therefore, the PUCSL has decided to hold a public consultation on issues related to same with a view to advising the Government on remedial measures.

The consultation document with regard to above is now available on the PUCSL’s official website (www.pucsl.gov.lk) for reference. A printed version of the same is made available at the information centre of the PUCSL.

Interested parties are invited to send written submissions on the subject areas to the PUCSL on or before 06th April 2018 via contact details indicated below. Please contact Mrs Anushika Kamburugamuwa via 0718622800 for more information and registration for the oral public consultation to be held shortly.
