The Consumer Consultative Committee has created by the PUCSL under Section 29 of the PUCSL Act. It represents the interests of smaller consumers, both existing and potential of regulated industries and acts as a counterweight to government, service providers and larger consumers in advocating views before us.
Current CCC consists of fifteen committee members and they meet regularly at the PUCSL office. All Committee members are selected to represent a range of consumer interest and members participate for meeting on voluntary basis.
Current membership of the CCC:
- One representative each from 9 provinces – three appointed for one year, three for two years and remaining three for three years
- Nominee from Sri Lanka Automobile Association – appointed for two years
- Nominee from International Water Management Institute - appointed for one year
- Nominee from Sri Lanka Energy Managers Association (SLEMA) – appointed for three year
- Nominee from National Chamber of Commerce – appointed for three years
- Nominee from Ceylon Chamber of Commerce – appointed for three years
- Nominee from Federation of Chamber of Commerce – appointed for three years
