VACANCY FOR A CONSULTANT – WATER SERVICE INDUSTRY
The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (Commission), in its capacity as the designated regulator of the water service industry, is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate to assist the Commission to establish the framework for regulation of the water service industry.
The primary responsibility of the successful candidate would be to provide technical input and coordinate the process of designing the framework for regulation of the water service industry by the Commission, which includes:
• Identifying the scope and means of regulatory intervention as well as drafting the industry Act and amendments to existing legislation in accordance with the same, with assistance from international/local consultants.
• Playing a proactive role in stakeholder consultations and public awareness programmes as well as writing policy and technical papers in order to achieve the objective of the Commission.
The candidate should possess at minimum 15-years of experience in a senior position in the water service industry and at minimum a Post Graduate Degree in water service related field. Policy and regulation related experience in the water service industry will be an added advantage.
Only short listed applicants will be called for an interview. The duration of the contract is one-year with the option of renewals.
