Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka is responsible for economic, technical and safety regulations of the electricity sector of Sri Lanka.

Petroleum

Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka acts as the shadow regulator for the lubricant in the petroleum industry by way of advising and assisting the government on policy and regulatory matters.

Water

The regulation of the Water service industry was officially assigned to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka in 2002. However until industrial act for water sector is enacted the Commission has no powers to regulate this sector.
